Isn't it romantic?

Tomory and I will be dancing to Dean and Britta's "Night Nurse" at our upcoming wedding for our first dance. What was the soundtrack to your first dance? What music do you find romantic? Have you ever composed a love song for someone?

  1. I attended a wedding a couple of weeks back where the couple danced to Harvest Moon. But it wasn't just the song, it was also a question of attitude. They danced staring into each other's eyes, leaning one against the other, ignoring thw world around them. I found it beautiful.

  4. i really started to think this love song theme.. Somehow almost every song is a love song? or maybe it´s just me hearing love in every song especially now when it´s spring and "love is all around" ;)

  6. I secretly composed a lovesong to my husband at our wedding and made the organist play it on the organ as our last song. I told my husband that the church had a weddinghymn, I didn´t tell him that it was my hymn that I had named after the church :) It was beautiful to see the surprised face of my love as the priest announced the hymn made by a woman that now had the same lastname as my husband.

  8. Not exactly music but...

The makers of the Voyager golden record (the one on the Voyager space probe), Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan, fell in love with each other while making it. Sagan made an hour-long recording of Druyan's brain-waves which was included on the record to be shot into space. Another track on that record consists of members of the UN saying hello and various other things in various languages, gradually interrupted by whale sounds as the track progresses. I can't help but think of this as some sort of romantic inside joke.

    Belated congratulations on your wedding.

  9. Harvest Moon - what a beautiful song.

We didn't have a first dance. We did however walk down the isle together to "Light My Fire" by The Doors and then once we had tied the knot, we walked out to "Voodoo Child" by Jimmi Hendrix. Not your usual wedding music, but we loved it. Its been the conversation piece amongst all the old aunts ever since !

  10. I was very in love with my husband when I was just 19 and wrote lyrics to the tune of a cute Japanese song tune. I sang it to my kids when they were little and they loved it!

  12. I wrote a million poems, does that count? I remember somebody composed a song for me and when I was too young and inmature to enjoy it. I felt so embarrassed!
