I just saw Leonard Cohen play live with his amazing band last night. If he is touring anywhere near you GO.
It will be one of the most rewarding experiences you have ever had. At 75, he is at the top of his craft and form. He has so much energy and life in him!
And he's funny too!
What shows have you seen lately?
Did you have a live music experience that you will never forget?
This was probably the best show I have ever seen.
i have heard some live parts from Cohen`s concerts from the radio. he really sounds a very humoristic guy:)
ReplyDeleteand he is already 75?? a real rolling stone:)
how lucky! I adore him.
ReplyDeletemy music experience was a jam session some days ago, i enjoyed it a lot. there was an electric cello, a hang, a dijerideou...
very experimental!
WOW how lucky you are, he is ONE of MY VERY VERY favorite... such a great voice...
ReplyDeleteMy music experience I will never forget is Police in les arĂȘne de Frejus when I was a teenager!
I saw him live many years ago at a music festival. His lyrics are great, aren't they? Hey, that's no way to say goodbye!
ReplyDeleteDo you also like Joni Mitchell and Al Stewart?
I think I'll get to see him next september (i have my fingers crossed...)
ReplyDeleteI was not sure but after reading your post I will definitively try to be in Nantes on 6th july (refer to our today's post !!)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh- so lucky. I listened to his concernt on NPR and it was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI saw him at The Orpheum, Vancouver, in the early 90s. He's so tall. Women were throwing their underwear onto the stage. It was the best show I've ever attended, out of many, many excellent shows. "I was born with the gift of a golden voice"... and a dry sense of humour, too. It may not be a golden but any master can make beautiful sounds on a cheap instrument.
ReplyDeletei have a crush on leonard cohen. he might be old, but he's got "it". he's coming to israel in september. i will go! for sure. last summer i missed he's concert in copenhagen. this time i will not miss it :)
ReplyDeletewhen i hear about leonard cohen, i think always at the real story to the song for marianne...best wishes*
ReplyDeleteHe is from my city !!! (Montreal rocks!) One of my favorite too !
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought it was so great too, saw him last year in Oakland. His band is amazing. I've heard that ever show is the exact same, down to ever joke, every comment...
ReplyDeleteBob Dylan three years ago at our county fair. Oh, that crowd became rowdy. I think we stood up the whole time, the whole two thousand of us, in the presence of the master!
ReplyDeletelove the old photos of him young
ReplyDeleteI saw him in Antwerp, He was so inspiring, even doing a little dance at the end, which was so wonderful to see.
ReplyDeletewhen i first moved to montreal, i took myself out for breakfast. i ended up in a booth across from leonard cohen. he has a really intense presence, even when he is just eating eggs.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are! Love his lyrics / poetry really....
